| New Stratos MAG helps reaching the big ones. |
Having just received his set of FS12000 MAG reels, Fox’s Stefan Hanff could not resist spooling one up and driving to a large gravel pit where carp had been showing on a shallow plateau over 140 metres from the bank.
Stef arrived in the fading light, and with night fishing not yet open, had only a couple of hours in front of him. He quickly set-up his 3.75oz Fox In-line free-running rig and short Coretex hooklink in a Fox PVA Bullet Bag with crushed boilies and a single hook bait, hair rigged on a size 10 Fox Arma Point SSBP hook.
“I could not believe how far the Bullet Bag went. The size of the spool makes it so easy for the line to come off, and I had to stop it with my finger not to land past the plateau,” Stefan told us.
Within minutes Stefan had the fist take and landed a mid 20lb carp. He recast and 30 minutes later connected with a 37 lb mirror. “The fish gave it all, and from that distance I appreciated the smoothness and balance of the new Stratos MAG reels.”
