1) Ashmead’s ‘Single Scale’ @ 53lb 12oz
I read with increasing interest, Mark Walsingham’s articles in Carpworld back in 2007/8, which gave me an insight into the fish that became something of an obsession. It was November 2009 when I set out to catch the fish of my dreams, and eventually I found where she was spending her time. It took some incredibly hard and very cold work, but eventually on the 27th January 2010, after first telling my wife Lynn that if I caught a fish that night I knew which one it would be, Single Scale came to rest in the bottom of my net. At 53lb 12oz she looked magnificent… and I had caught her!!
