Chris Holley is a well know and respected Dorset based angler. Chris grew up in South London where he spent his early teens fishing for carp on the pits and lakes of Kent but his real love is for running water. With over 30 years experience on rivers, he specialises in the pursuit of barbel and chub with over 200 double figure barbel to his credit and chub to 7lb 10oz.
Chris has been classified by the media as a traditionalist spending the majority of his time on the bank preferring to adopt a roving approach with conventional baits to search out his prey.
He has been involved in many angling clubs and organisations over the years, being a founder member of both The Barbel society and Barbel Study Group, carrying out several studies on the species and their habitat. However, nowadays Chris spends much of his time teaching with tuition days and presentations to fellow anglers. Chris is also an NFA qualified coach.

Since the age of 7 Tom has loved fishing. He has fished the famous Walthamstow complex where he caught his first English 30lb carp, as well as
Mid Kent Fisheries, the famous Linear Complex as well as many other day ticket lakes with great success. At present he has banked over 50 English 30lb fish and four ‘40s’ with a personal best being a 44lb 8oz mirror. His best session was when he landed 10 fish in 48hrs with six being over 30lb up to 39lb 6oz.
Tom’s favourite methods of fishing are being mobile, allowing him to move onto the fish if they move, hence increasing his chances of catching. He is also a keen carp match angler - he was the youngest ever competitor to qualify for the BCAC Finals aged just 14. Tom has also had two podium finishes in the British Young Carp Anglers Championships.

Heavy baiting with the use of a spod is what Steve describes as his favourite style of fishing, a tactic he started to use in the late 1980s on Layer Pits in Essex, England. More recently he has been perfecting accurate fishing with PVA over a tightly spodded area fished at distance.
Steve’s biggest carp stands at 47lb 2oz, with his all-time best catch being one double, five ‘20s’, six ‘30s’ and one ‘40’ in a 30 hour period. Steve has fished for the NFA Carp Team and won a silver team medal in England’s first FIPS World Championship.
Together with his angling partner and fellow Fox consultant Chris Rose, Steve regularly appears in leading UK carp magazine Total Carp, as well as articles being included in magazines throughout Europe.

Mark is an IT Consultant and has been fishing for carp since 1990. For several years he has been a regular contributor to Dutch angling magazines and he is a former board member of the Dutch Carp Study Group.
Because of his busy job, family life and other hobbies and commitments he is forced to prepare and execute his fishing as effective as possible. Although Mark has already caught quite some big Dutch carp, that alone is not what he’s after. Variation in his fishing by constantly searching for new challenges and improvements in every aspect of carp fishing is what makes him more fanatical with each passing year.

New recruit to the Fox Team, 33 year-old ‘Andy’ lives in Ruedesheim at the Rhine in Germany. He started fishing in 1987 on the River Rhine, but his carp fishing really started around 1990 with his professional carp angling career started in 1993. Over all these years he has fished all around Europe. He is experienced on many of the legendary waters in France. He has also fished a lot of very small and difficult lakes in Germany, but his main fishing remains on the Rhine.
He has banked many carp weighing more than 20kg, with his personal best being a huge 33.4 kg fish! He also targets zander and catfish, admitting that fishing with shads and lures is his second love after carp fishing.

After taking up carp angling when he was young, Justin has spent many years fishing some of the well known UK carp waters. But since 2005 he has focused a lot of time fishing big French waters including Cassein and Rainbow Lakes. He now spends around 10-14 weeks a year in France, primarily on Rainbow and this culminated in the capture of one of the big mirrors in March this year – a monster at 79lb, caught using Fox Warrior rods! Fishing Rainbow is very demanding and it is vitally important to have kit, particularly rods and terminal tackle that is up to the job. Justin believes the Fox range excels in this department. His dream now would be to catch a 60lb+ common. Watch this space!

Moggy has been carp fishing since the early 80s and classes his favourite style of fishing as trying to find fish and outwit them in the margins. A lot of his fishing is reserved for the margins, which makes presentation, baiting up and rig placement a lot easier. Moggy’s biggest mirror is the ‘Royal Forty’ at 42lb 4oz and his personal best fish is the one and only ‘Charlie’s Mate’ at 45lb 12oz. We understand that Moggy was the first person to catch three different 40lb+ common carp from one lake, down at Cemex Angling’s Frimley Pit 3; Gregory Peck 40lb 4oz, Charlie’s Mate 45lb 12oz and Charlie at 41lb.

Since the age of 9, Matt has specialized in fishing his local Fenland Rivers and Drains for a multitude of species. Now 25, he much prefers to put in the extra effort and study an Ordnance Survey map to locate quieter stretches and venues, rather than following the crowds; a technique that has put him onto many specimen fish that would usually have gone unnoticed. Matt first grabbed media attention by landing a string of 3lb plus Fenland Rudd and has since become a regular contributor to Coarse Fisherman magazine.
Matt also has a website that can be found at www.rodcast.co.uk

Christophe is based in the centre of France, approximately 100 miles south of Paris. The 40 year angler has been associated with Fox since 2003. With a plethora of big fish to his name, including mirrors to 47lb 4oz and leathers to 39lb 7oz, he certainly knows how to catch them.
One of Christophe's passions is competing in major carp matches. With his long-standing partner and great friend Sebastien Depont, who is a Fox angler since 2007, their biggest win to date came in June 2000 when they finished second to the English pairing of Tim Paisley and Steve Briggs at the World Carp Cup at Fishabil.
Christophe writes for French magazine ‘Carpe Record’ and has also presented two DVDs. He lists his favourite methods as a single pop-up boilie (a Mainline boilie, that's for sure!) and balanced presentations with PVA sticks, stringers or bags.

Although he has been fishing since the age of 5, it wasn't until he was 13 that Andy started to fish solely for carp. His carp fishing started on local club lakes and farm reservoirs, before in the 1984/85 season he joined Darenth and spent many happy years fishing this venue until its demise.
After that Andy started fishing nearer to home on the gravel pits of the Medway Valley and then to Sutton at Hone before spending three years on the Walthamstow complex in London. Since then he has spent three years on Mid Kent fisheries, concentrating mainly on Chilham but also having a dabble on their other waters. During this time Andy ventured into match fishing with some success gaining a runners-up place in 2003 before eventually winning the BCAC in 2004 and qualifying in 1st place with his son Tom to reach the final in 2006.
His fishing at the moment is concentrated on two southern pits in search of his first English ‘40’. Andy also managed to break the British chub record with a specimen of 9lb 5oz.

It was at the age of seven that Mike ‘Spug’ Redfern started fishing, happy to catch anything he could. But by 11 years of age he was successfully specimen hunting for tench until work life took over. A return to fishing in 1992 came with the decision to swap over to solely pursue carp from 1995 onwards. Dragged up (as he puts it) by the ‘old school anglers’ he very quickly decided to target carp that were said to be trickier to catch. After a couple of years on day ticket waters he moved on to the Catch 22 Syndicate Lake (medium tricky) in 1997 and quickly broke the records there for the amount of fish caught in a weekend and then in a season. The following year he joined the famous Kingfisher Syndicate in Norfolk (medium/hard) and landed an incredible 11 fish in only 10 nights fishing - five of which were caught in just eight hours. After this short season he felt he was ready to take on the challenges of the ultra difficult Mid Kent Fisheries in Conningbrook, home of the UK record carp. After just 72 nights over a three year period he landed four fish in total, including the lake’s much sought after ‘Two Tone’ at 56lb 8oz, at the time the second biggest carp ever landed in England. This capture also made him only the fourth British angler to catch a 50lb+ carp home and abroad.
Mike is known for being an ‘off the cuff’ angler, a big personality and full of character.
He regularly answers questions in the ‘Ask the experts’ article in Carpworld and ‘The question is’ for Crafty Carper as well as the odd article in the other magazines along the way.
